Food for thought. With all of the rationalizing and restructuring, pharma field forces have been severely reduced in size.
Through all of this, it has been the experienced reps that have typically been kept and very few young people have been hired.
What is the impact of the increasing age gap between new doctors and pharma reps, which can now be in the order of ten or twenty plus years?
How does this impact the pharma reps ability, no matter how good they are, to connect with the next generation of physicians?
How does this affect how this new generation of physicians perceive the pharma industry?
Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
